Compared to 2009, this seemed like an off year for Idol music releases.
But at least 15 former Idol contestants released music videos in 2010, including some featuring music released last year.
I’ve reviewed them all.
Without further ado, here are my picks for the five best.
And, for your viewing pleasure, I’ve embedded all the Idol videos I could find from 2010. In some cases, you’ll be dumped to youTube because embedding is disabled. Sorry for that inconvenience.
Also, make sure to check out the other 2010 in Review blogs, including the Best of Idol, the Worst of Idol, the top albums of the year and the top songs of the year.
Don’t hesitate to comment if you disagree.
1. Adam Lambert
“If I Had You”
Adam struts into the woods. The moon comes up.
And a Glam Nation party breaks out. Great fun.
The Allison Iraheta cameo is a nice touch, too.

2. Carrie Underwood
“Temporary Home”
Carrie looking lovely. Snowflakes falling.
A message of hope.
And easily the most touching Idol video of year.

3. Danny Gokey
“My Best Days Are Ahead of Me”
The debut video for Danny.
Love the messages sprinkled throughout, especially the opening.
Easily the most inspirational Idol video of the year.

4. Crystal Bowersox
“Farmer’s Daughter”
Fantastic song.
Nicely told in video
And the cameo by Crystal’s son (that’s Tony, right?) at the end is a nice touch.
Just released and it’s the uncensored version. (here’s the link).
5. Kimberly Caldwell
“Mess of You”
What’s better than one Kimberly Caldwell?
Two Kimberly Caldwells, and one little black dress.
You’ll have to watch until the end to see what I mean.
