Scotty McCreery promised he’d kiss the grass first thing on his return to Garner, N.C., this weekend.
He did the next best thing, according to WRAL.com, kissing the ground when his plane landed at the Raleigh airport and proclaiming “It feels so good. It feels too good.”
But his trip home was just beginning. It included a visit to a Lowes Food store where he used to work, to Garner Magnet School where he used to play baseball and to a North Carolina State University baseball game, where he threw out the first pitch, even though the game was postponed because of rain.
It was during the visit to the grocery store that Scotty learned what song the judges have picked for him to sing Wednesday night: Kenny Rogers’ “She Believes in Me.”
He also performed in front of thousands at Garner Lake Benson Park, singing country music of course. The set list included “Your Man,” a Josh Turner tune he called his theme song on the show. And Josh Turner was on hand to sing it with him.
WRAL.com has lots of photos and videos from Scotty’s visit. Head here to check it out.
Awesome! I wish I could of been there to see Scotty McCreery & Josh Turner sing together.
