The video is for the song “Crying on a Suitcase,” perhaps the finest track off the debut album he released back in March.
The song’s about a guy who’s trying to convince his lady love not to leave town, though she’s pretty determined to do so.
Casey plays the part of the guy, of course, in a music video that debuted on his website Thursday.
“This is the first opportunity I’ve had to play a character in a video,” Casey said in an email announcing the video. “My focus is always the music, but it was a lot of fun working outside my comfort zone. I wanted to make sure that the small amount of acting would be believable, and I feel like it is.”
You can watch the video by heading to Casey’s website. You’ll have to sign up for his email newsletter to do so, however.
His debut album dropped at number two on Billboard’s country album chart and the first single from it, “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night,” reached number 21 on the country singles chart.
Other tunes from the album you should definitely check out: “Working on It” and “Miss Your Fire,” which Casey co-wrote.
And, don’t forget, Casey will be performing at the York Fair at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9. The show is free with the cost of admission to the fair.
Now, here’s a performance video — not the official video — of “Crying on a Suitcase.”
