Douglas Knight (DK) is a Red Lion resident and Chief Connector for Connect The Dots Movement, an impact organization dedicated to working with nonprofiteers, small biz rockstars, government leaders, and education institutions who see a need for new policy, practice and attitude in our community revitalization.. and that there’s a better way for our communities to connect the dots to all our city’s assets/resources in that development strategy. Consultant? Sure…but he prefers to be called a “community broker” – connecting assets and resources to impact community.
Doug has presented at conferences, seminars and workshops all across the country and via the good old Interwebs. From your hometown to TEDx conferences, DK is a passionate (some might say “crazy”) advocate for a new perspective on leadership, nonprofiteering, community development, and the role of social enterprise and social philanthropy in today’s economy. He is believer in “The Connection Economy” and is proud to share his take on how this new economic reality shapes our organizations, leaders and events.
DK’s got a concert-tour-like life story. Family roots are from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Born in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Raised a bit in Taylor, Pennsylvania. Grew up in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. District of Columbia resident for sixteen years. Now living in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. He’s an avid New England Sports fan, loves everything about music (don’t play the “name that tune” game with him, it’s unreal and somewhat frightening) and enjoys a good scotch & cigar every so often. Proud Sons of American Legion (SAL) and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks member (Elks Lodge #213, York, PA).
Engaged MARRIED (as of October 2015) to Ms. Korey Warner (KDub!). Rockin’ two cats (Lord Izaak Duke of Earl Grey & Lady Day Izzy Grey) and one Blackberry (yes, a blackberry…consider him “smartphone old school”).
