My family loves movies.

We love going to theaters, watching movies at home and seeing shows outdoors.

Theater in the park is especially charming, especially if it’s a mild evening.

But for those hot summer days, Frank Theatres is offering a cool option.

Two weeks ago, the theater in Queensgate Towne Center began its Summer Movie Series. Held at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and summer kids movie seriesThursdays, the series shows eight family movies in eight weeks.

Admission is $1 and snacks are available.

The schedule this week and beyond is as follows:

June 25 and 27:         “The Lorax”

July 2 and 4:                “The Smurfs”

July 9 and 11:              “Hotel Transylvania”

July 16 and 18:           “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”

July 23 and 25:           “Monsters vs. Aliens”

July 30 and Aug. 1:   “Rise of the Guardians”
