Time to start making Valentine’s plans
I’ve never liked it. I’ve never celebrated it (except for an anti-Valentine’s Day potluck my friends and I had in college).
I hate it because it’s a cop out for people who don’t show their significant other how much they love them any other day of the year. They try to make up for it on Valentine’s Day and I’m just not buying it. (I have similar feelings about Mother’s Day and Father’s Day… but that’s a rant for another time, like May or June.)
But, for the masses, it’s time to start thinking about your V-Day plans. If you’re staying in, you have a little more time to choose the menu. But, make sure it’s light and you avoid the onions and garlic. No one want to be in a food coma with bad breath after a romantic meal.
For those of you heading out on the town for the evening, now is the time to start making reservations at your favorite spot.
Or, we could make it for you.
The York Dispatch is holding a Facebook contest where you can win a romantic dinner for two at The Left Bank in downtown York. The contest includes a coveted 7:15 p.m. reservation on Feb. 14.
