Students express their dreams for humankind

First- to fourth-grade students in enrichment classes at Ferguson Elementary, York City School District, recently learned about the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. After the study unit, their teacher, Mrs. Jeannie M. Himmelberger, asked them to express their dreams for humankind.

My dream for all people is to respect one another. Maybe somebody might get new shoes and a boy says that they are worthless. But the boy really knows he wants those shoes. The next day the boy said that he really likes them and I respect you since those shoes are on you. That’s an example of someone respecting one another.

My dream for all people is to stop violence to stop and all drugs. I say that because violence and drugs are wrong just like smoking and gambling. That is my dream.
