Kid Scoop: Favorite Books

Topic: Sell that book

My favorite book that I think kids should read is “Soul Surfer.” This book tells about a girl that was attacked by a shark and lost her arm. She still does everything she did before but with one arm. This book tells people that even though a body part is missing, you still have to have faith in yourself and make it seem better than what you think it is. My favorite book is the “Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey.” Four kids travel through Europe to find clues to save a friend. My favorite book is “Hero” by Mike Lupica. I think other kids should read this because a boy named Zach finds out he has powers. He eventually uses his powers to fight “The Bads,” the villains. Zach faces many challenges and Mike Lupica ends each chapter with a huge cliffhanger. My favorite book is “The Giving Tree.” Kids should read this book because it tells how a tree gives as much as she can to a boy over the years. The boy gets older and older and the tree gives as much as she can to the boy. — Faith Malley, fourth grade, Fishing Creek El., Mr. Richcrick

“Because of Winn Dixie” is the best book ever!! It’s about a girl, who finds a dog at the store, Winn Dixie. The girl talks to the dog and takes care of him. Kids should read this book because it has a very good message to it. My favorite book is “Eleven Birthdays” because the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. In the story, you meet characters that make you pick sides. Maybe it’s Amanda, or even L. This story will have you talking about it to your friends, family and even teachers. That’s why “Eleven Birthdays” is my favorite book. I like the book “Three Days” by Donna Jo Napoli because it makes you feel like you are Jackie and you got kidnapped. It’s very, very good.
