Learn to be a beachcomber
The York County Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a beach combing program, 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Richard M. Nixon County Park.
Join Dr. Jessica Nolan, marine biologist at York College, to learn more about the creatures and flotsam you can find on the beach. The indoor program will cover the basics of beach combing including commonly found creatures and identification methods. It will also include discussion about the lives of animals before they wash ashore. It is appropriate for all ages.
There is no fee for the program and pre-registration is not required. For more
information, call the Nixon Park Nature Center at (717) 428-1961.
