Age 12, York

One day I was walking my dog, it was 9:45 p.m. at night. So I was walking along when this huge ball of fire came out of the night sky. I didn’t know what it was. So I walked towards it when a strange pink woman came out. She said, “Take to me to your leader earthling.”

I just stared at her. Then she said, “It’s nice to stare.”

So I asked her what her name was. She said, “I’m Fizz.” She told me ever since she was 5, she acted like a human and never like an alien. So since Fizz doesn’t have any money or home I told her she could live with me.

When we went to my house, mom was waiting for me. She asked where I was and if I was hurt. I said, “I walked Sean (my dog) a different way and no I’m not hurt.”

Mom asked one more question, “Who’s this?”

“This is um … Marley, she moved in down the street,” I said.

Mom said, “It’s really nice to meet you Marley.”

“Can she sleepover?” I asked.

Mom said, “Of course she can.”

Mom helped me fix the bottom bunk of my bunk bed for Marley. Mom said good night and we fell asleep. During the night Fizz made my bed float and since I was on the top bunk I bumped my head on the ceiling.

The next morning we woke up and I told Fizz about American life but I think she knows a lot about it. She didn’t know what a lot of things were so I told her all about TVs, microwaves, music, laptops and iPods. Since Fizz only had clothes from her planet, we went to the mall.

So in a flash Fizz took us to the mall but instead of going to the mall in York we went to the mall in L.A. When we got there we bought bracelets, hair accessories, jeans, t-shirts and jackets. Most of the stores we shopped at I haven’t heard of.

After shopping we went to a pizza place. Fizz said it was the best thing she tasted in the whole galaxy.

When we went to my house Fizz said that she felt homesick. I said, “Will your parents let you come back if you were homesick.”

She said, “Yeah.”

We said good-bye and Fizz got into her sparkly Pink rocket. She started it up and disappeared into the sky with a twinkle.
