YSO school program
The York Symphony Orchestra presented a classical music program in May to kindergartners through sixth-graders in the Northeastern, Dover Area, South Eastern, Red Lion Area and Dallastown Area school districts as well as at York Country Day School and Logos Academy. John Eaken, concertmaster for the orchestra, and Gloria Whitney performed as the Eaken Duo, and lessons were given on instruments, techniques and the importance of being able to express feelings and emotions through music. The educational outreach effort was made possible through the Stillwagon Foundation. Pictured are Eaken and Whitney at Mount Wolf Elementary School.
