I’m not going to start with once upon a time because I don’t believe in once upon a time. I’m Becca, Becca Sterner and this is my story about how I fell in love with an alien.

This isn’t a romantic story, well maybe a little, it depends how you look at it, but back to the point. It all started when I was in school. The world was at war with aliens and the king was making it mandatory that every school in the world learned all there was to know about aliens and how to kill them if we ever ran into them. It wasn’t like this was a bad thing, trust me, I would rather be learning this instead of that boring math, reading, blah, blah, blah. No one needs that stuff, but we do need science. That was the one class I loved. My science teacher Ms. Barnes is amazing. She teaches us everything there is to know about alien life form! She taught us to dissect an alien once. It was really cool, but not the point. The point is I never listened and now I’m in the war with the man of my dreams!

So when I say war, I mean war. The government needed more armies and they wanted kids right out of school or still in school to fight. I don’t know why — again I don’t listen. So I volunteered thinking if I hide no one can get me. It stayed like this for about seven weeks. Then I guess the alien thought the same thing. I was in the mountians with water and very little food. When I ran out of food I started to eat the leaves. Which were very tasty in my defense. After a while of being alone I started to walk back to camp. Along the way I meet Abblock. I started to run but he was too fast for me. He told me that he wanted to leave the war. He said he didn’t like fighting and neither did his planet. I couldn’t do anything but stare at him. I thought aliens were supposed to speak foreign, I guess not. He spoke perfect English and I was kinda happy that I had someone there to talk to.

We then walked back to my camp site and we sat down and talked for hours, days, even weeks. It was about maybe thirteen weeks before they found us. I guess the US needed new territory so they came up into the mountains where Abblock and I were. They saw that I was with an alien so they took him away and left me there to watch them take him away from me. As they did that I just then realized that Abblock was in love with me and I with him. I never knew I could feel that way for someone so different before. I knew right then and there I had to do everything in my powers to get him back.

I walked all night up to the top of the mountain where they took him. At twilight I got there and saw him tied to the pole. He looked terrible! They hurt him badly. I couldn’t help but cry. I ran over to him and started asking questions, but all I could do was cry into his torn t-shirt. He said he was fine. I looked at him like he was crazy. He knew what I thought. He told me that over the last 13 weeks he has fallen in love with me and if he ever made it out alive that he would do everything to keep us together. I said that I loved him to and we kissed. As we kissed I heard clapping. It came from behind.

“Well, well I thought you would come up here,” the Captain said.

“Let him go!” I said.

“Why so you can have a silly boyfriend? I was put in this spot to kill all aliens and that I will do.” As he said that all the people behind him pushed me out of the way and he held his gun up right at Abblock.

“Can’t you see?” I demanded “He means no harm, that’s why he ran away with me. I do love him. Please don’t hurt him.”

“Well when you put it like that I won’t.”

“Really?” I started to feel relived, but then he said, “No you silly girl!” as he said that he shot Abblock.

Abblock didn’t move, he didn’t bleed, but I felt his pain. I fell to my knees and started to cry. As I looked up at one last glimpse, I saw Abblock rise and then stop in front of me. He kissed my forhead then went over to the Captain.

“I do not want to fight you. But what you did to me was sick and I will have my people come after you. Now run!”

They all ran away like little babies. He picked me up in his arms and kissed me. “You do love me,” I said.

“Who said I stopped,” he said. Then he put me down and we walked away all happy like.

“So are your people really going after them?” I asked.

“No,” he said chuckling, “I don’t have people.”

“Yes you do.”

“Who?”

“Me.” After that he kissed me and we lived happily ever after. I guess my life is a fairy tale. And for the bad guys, well they got what they deserved.
