Go back in time at Railroad Heritage Day
The Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society will present its Railroad Heritage Day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in the village of Muddy Creek Forks.
Visitors can ride the unique motorcar trains from Muddy Creek Forks to Laurel and tour the A.M. Grove store with its antiques and displays, the Roller Mill which produced fine quality white flour, the grain elevator where wheat was bought and held for shipping, and Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad Locomotive No. 82 and Caboose 2007. Access to the buildings, demonstrations, and slide shows is free of charge. Train tickets will be on sale in the station at $5 for adults and $3 for children. There will be special activities for the children, a delicious lunch and desserts, and fun for the whole family.
Also, Jack Shagena, author of “The Ma & Pa Remembered,” will autograph his books, available for sale.
