Library open house features therapy dogs
The Arthur Hufnagel Public Library of Glen Rock, 32 Main St., will host a Therapy Dogs Open House, 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Sept. 22.
The volunteer team of Jenn Irwin and Hilary and Madelyn Bull of KPETS will bring their therapy dogs Ziva Marie, a Staffordshire bull terrier, and Shep, a great Pyrenees. They are trained and certified to bring love and comfort to brighten a day.
The event provides an opportunity for emergent readers to meet the dogs prior to reading therapy programming begins. The goal is for the dogs to give unconditional attention and to provide the children with a relaxing environment in which they can build reading confidence, skills and understanding.
Registration is not necessary. Light refreshments will be served.
