As part of America’s Safe Schools Week, Oct. 21-27, the Southern York County School District’s Safety Committee is sponsoring a Safety Tip Poster and Video Contest. District students at every grade level, along with staff, are invited to share a safety tip that displays the responsibility they should have for “safety” in the schools and on school buses. Participants may choose one of the following themes: Bullying, Bus Behavior, or Protecting your Personal Belongings.

Poster submissions must be completed on a sheet of 8½ by 11 or 9 by 12 white paper. Students must include their name, grade, building location, and teacher’s name on the back of the posters. Video submissions must be 30 seconds or less in length. They are to be submitted on a DVD, CD or flash drive. Students must include their name, teacher’s name, grade and school with their video submissions.

Deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 19. Entries are to be submitted to the district’s Administrative Services/Safety Committee, located in the Administration Building. Awards will be announced Monday, Oct. 29. Prizes will be awarded for poster and video submissions. Individual and class prizes will be awarded. Winning posters will be displayed and winning videos may be used as Public Service Announcements on Warrior TV.
