Northern Middle School students in Karissa Hall’s family and consumer sciences class sewed items designed to help the less fortunate. Seventh- and eighth-graders made dresses for the Little Dresses for Africa organization and sixth-graders created pillowcases to be donated to Hershey Children’s Hospital through the Miranda’s Smile, Sewing for Smiles project. Northern is one of the few area districts to maintain a strong consumer sciences program.
