The York County Heritage Trust’s Articles of Confederation Day celebration will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Colonial Courthouse, West Market Street.

The event commemorates the adoption of the Articles of Confederation in York on Nov. 15, 1777. Written by the Second Continental Congress during the American Revolutionary War, the Articles served as the precursor to the nation’s Constitution, establishing, for the first time, the role of the federal government and our rights as American citizens.

A drama, “Discovering History,” will be performed by students in grades 9-12 from New Hope Charter School. Participating students are Shea Passno, Keegan Counterman, Karla Ortiz, Ashley Shaw, Raven Fink, Darrin Mosley Jr., Dante Strange, Bradlee Gorrera and Nasan Jamison.

The event will also feature a presentation of the Student Media awards.

Those planning to attend are asked to make reservations by calling (717) 848-1587, ext. 210.
