Mix and Match lyrics

Here’s a neat video. By using the “CC” button on the YouTube screen you can switch the lyrics to a different song than the one that’s actually playing. The thing is that almost all the words you are singing will “go with” the melody that you are hearing.
What this video is showing is how most songs are written on what’s called “Common meter” — meaning a verse that has a line of eight syllables followed by a six syllable line.
If you can’t get it to work, try have an adult help you to adjust the lyrics and sing aloud so you can hear how it works.
