Model railroad is ready for the holidays
The 69th annual Open House of the Miniature Railroad Club of York kicks off Nov. 25 at 381 Wheatfield St., York.
The all-ages event features a 30- by 90-foot HO scale model railroad on which up to 14 trains and locomotives can be run at one time. Historic steam locomotives and trains that ran through York on the Pennsylvania Railroad in the 1940s and 1950s to modern diesel and passenger trains can be seen. A miniature TV camera gives a view from the cab of a model locomotive just like the engineer has, on a TV screen.
Hours are 3 to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays, Nov. 25, Dec. 2, Dec. 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30 and Jan. 5-6.
