We are now recruiting volunteer tutors for the next school year. You do not need to be an AARP member to become a volunteer tutor. To participate in the program:

– You must complete one training session, held Oct. 13 at the Red Lion Area Education Center, 696 Delta Road.
– You must commit to tutoring one to two hours a week (depending on the needs of the child) at one of the elementary buildings during the school day.
– You must complete two background security checks (the $20 fee will be refunded after the application process is completed.

A background in education is not necessary; all that is necessary is a love of children and the desire to help a child learn. Classroom teachers provide direction and teaching materials.

Tutor applications are available at Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion (244-7624), and at the RLASD Education Center. Please join with us in an adventure of a lifetime.
