Clearview PTO hopes to raise at least $10,000

Members of the Clearview Elementary PTO, Red Lion Area School District, will host a three-event fund raiser on Oct. 1 at the school, 2650 Delta Road, Brogue. And, if they raise at least $10,000, Clearview Principal Todd McClimans promises to sleep on the roof of the school on Oct. 6.

First, a yard sale/flea market opens at 8 a.m. with spaces available for $10. To reserve a space, call Melanie Engel at 456-2632.

At the same time, a three-mile walk/run (no pets), Together We Can Become a Healthy Community, will get underway. Registration is $20 for ages 5 and older. Race day registration is 7-8:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded to the first three to finish. All participants will receive a free gift. To enter, call Marina Blevis at 862-1300.

And a rain-or-shine chicken barbecue will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The cost is $8 in advance or $8.50 the day of the event.
The cost includes half a chicken, a roll, applesauce, and a baked potato. Call Dale Keesey for orders, 515-0275.

The rain date for the run/walk and yard sale is Oct. 15.
