Public cyber school to host picnic at Sam Lewis Park

Commonwealth Connections Academy will jumpstart the new school year by hosting back to school picnics throughout Pennsylvania on Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play, the largest gathering of youths exercising. The York County event is 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at Samuel S. Lewis State Park, Hilltop Pavilion, 6000 Mount Pisgah Road, York.

The event is to educate students and their families on how CCA’s flexible online learning community enables students to lead active lifestyles.

Children and their parents will have the opportunity to meet with enrolled students, their families and instructors to learn more about CCA’s technology-enhanced learning environment, which includes opportunities for active lifestyles through fitness days, physical education and various clubs.

In addition to games and picnic foods, students and their families can also learn about the enrollment process and view samples of the curriculum.

CCA combines the expertise and accountability of public education, parental involvement of home schooling and the flexibility of technology-enhanced learning. Because it is a Pennsylvania public school, there are no costs for tuition, fees or supplies.
