Caleb Gerlach portrays Tommy Walker in HHS's musical.
A preview of “The Who’s Tommy the Musical,” to be presented April 20-22 at Hanover High School, will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Timeline Arcade, North Hanover Mall.
The preview event will feature a competition for the title of “Pinball Wizard” using four pinball machines set up in the middle of the mall. Tournaments are for women, men, couples, kids younger than 12, and a special blind (unseen flippers) category. Students will perform selections from the musical at 3 p.m.
Timeline Arcade owns an authentic “Tommy” pinball machine that was manufactured to promote the 1993 Tony Award-winning musical about a young man who beats the odds to become a pinball superstar.
Tournament prizes will be tickets to the musical, arcade cards with credits, and pinball promotional merchandise. Register at the arcade prior to the event. For more information, call 634-2600.
Hanover High School’s version of the Tony Award-winning musical will feature a revolving stage, special effects and extraordinary choreography and costuming. Timeline Arcade will provide pinball machines to be played in the lobby at intermission as well as before and after the show. Proceeds will be donated to the drama department. Tickets for the musical will be available at the pinball tournament and at the Hanover High School office. Advance tickets are $7 for students and $8 for adults. Tickets will be $2 more at the door.
