If I were President of the United states Of America, this is what I would do … if I thought of a new law I would get all of the old presidents together. I would tell them the new law that I thought of. I would wonder if they would like my law. I wonder if they would say yes. I would be happy when people liked my laws. In the morning when I headed to the white house, I would drive a truck, a blue truck. It would have leather seats that are comfortable. I hope everyone would like me as a president. I would love being president!

If I was the president of the U.S.A., this is how I would be a good one. I would lower the price of gas so you would not have to pay so much. I would also support everyone of you. I think that would be very nice to do. I would try my absolute hardest to give you what you need. I would be thoughtful. Please vote for me when I am a candidate. There are things I would do if I was president. One thing I would do as president is to tell gas stations to lower gas prices. Next, I would give $100,000 dollars to cure the sick people with diseases. Then, I would make a community that would make lots of lunches for the hungry. I would also give money to all the charities. I would make sure they did not cut any more fields down. Another reason why I would like to be president is because I will make lots of apartments for people that do not have places to live. Then, I would visit people who are in a living home and give them presents. Last, I would go into the hospitals and go room to room and say hello. I would like to be president.

Diane Markle, a first- and second-grade teacher at New Salem Elementary, took her students on a playground bug hunt as part of a Science Investigations study unit. The students collected bugs in vials and observed their behaviors in their classroom and then set the bugs free. They also read, Under the Big Gray Rock, a story that describes characteristics of insects, and then wrote their own insect stories.

One day while I went for a bike ride, I discovered an insect under a big, gray rock. I saw a stinkbug on the trail. I scooped it up. Then it sprayed me! It sprayed me again and then I set it free. Now that the bug has sprayed me I am glad I set it free.
