Poster contest for K-12 students
In an effort to educate young people on the dangers of underage drinking, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is encouraging students from across the state to participate in the 21st annual Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest.
A panel of judges will select approximately 50 entries and those students will be recognized at a ceremony in Harrisburg during Alcohol Awareness Week in April 2013. Of those artists, 13 winners will be selected to receive a $50 cash prize. The artists responsible for the top designs will receive a cash prize of $100 and their artwork will be reproduced into posters, coloring pages and/or bookmarks.
Entries must be received by Nov. 16 and the winners will be announced in early 2013.
Last year, more than 500 students participated. Since the poster contest began in 1992, the PLCB has received more than 28,000 entries.
