York Haven Elementary School’s teachers, staff and principal will work behind the counter and in the lobby of the Manchester McDonald’s from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, to raise funds for the school’s educational programs.

Students, parents, grandparents and community members are invited to dine at McDonald’s in support of the school. Diners will need a coupon, available at all of the Northeastern School District schools, in order for a portion of the sales to benefit the elementary school. Coupons will be sent home with students on May 20.

Northeastern School District is planning a district-wide Class Assignment Pick-up Day, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9.

Parents and students (K-12) will be able to pick up their class and bus assignments and PSSA scores in the Northeastern High School lobby, 300 High St., Manchester.

Packets will be mailed to students who are not able to attend the event.

Northeastern School District will present Town Hall Meeting: A Community Conversation, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, in the Northeastern Middle School auditorium, 4855 Board Road, Mount Wolf.

Join the conversation with members of the Northeastern School Board directors, district administration and community members. Hear about the district’s successes and challenges. This is an opportunity to share concerns and ideas regarding Northeastern School District’s future.

The evening will focus on four questions:
1. What makes Northeastern a great school district for our students?
2. What challenges does the district face?
3. How can we improve our school district?
4. How can we involve more community members in our schools?

York Haven Elementary School’s annual McTeacher night fund raiser is 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at McDonald’s, 4245 N. George St. Extended, Manchester.

Come see the teachers and Mr. March (principal) take orders. A portion of all orders will benefit York Haven Elementary School.

Coupons are required when placing an order. They can be picked up at York Haven Elementary, 360 Cassel Road, or at any school within the Northeastern School District.

Teachers and staff members from all the school buildings within the Northeastern School District will team up for Battle of the Buildings, 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the high school gym, 300 High St., Manchester.

Building teams will compete against one another in various relays and Minute to Win It challenges. The high school cheerleaders and the pep band will perform and root for their teachers. Competition is intense, as the winning school gets to keep the coveted championship banner for an entire year.

All proceeds benefit Northeastern Dollars for Scholars, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships for graduating seniors who attend the Northeastern School District.

Tickets are $1 for students and $2 for adults. The doors open at 6 p.m.
