Hill plans to return for his senior season

Penn State defensive tackle Jordan Hill has told WHTM Channel 27 in Harrisburg that he plans to return to the Nittany Lions for his senior season.

Hill, who graduated from Steel-High, had been considering applying for the NFL draft. He had requested an evaluation from the NFL draft advisory committee.

But he ultimately decided to return to Penn State, despite the turmoil surrounding the program in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. The Lions are still without a permanent head coach after the firing of Joe Paterno in November.

Hill combined with All-American Devon Still to give the Lions’ a stalwart inside combination at defensive tackle. Hill had 59 tackles this season, including eight for loss and 3½ sacks. He also had one forced fumble and three fumbles recovered.

PSU linebacker Gerald Hodges, who also sought a draft evaluation, also said last week he’s returning for the 2012 season.
