Blue Crabs announce three more signings

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs announced three more signings on Tuesday. Outfielder Casey Benjamin and starting pitchers Michael Schlact and Ben Moore will be returning to the club.

Schlact, 26, is a former Texas Rangers prospect who topped out at Class AA Frisco. The righty has played for the Blue Crabs each of the last two years. Last season, he went 6-4 with a 4.61 ERA in 21 games – 18 starts – on the mound for Southern Maryland.

Benjamin, 30, is also a former Texas Rangers prospect. The left-handed batter had a .285 average with 11 homers and 68 RBIs in 115 games for the Blue Crabs a year ago.
