Hoiles opens baseball academy in York
I’ve been a little bit busy this week covering a mix of just about everything – boys’ basketball, high school wrestling, etc. So, here’s a quick recap of a few happenings around the Atlantic League over this past week. Also, as of Dec. 21, were are less than two weeks away from the Jan. 1 date of when teams can “officially” start signing players for the 2013 season. So, we should expect to hear plenty of news on signings pretty soon. There may or may not be something posted again before Dec. 25, so I just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas/Hannukkah/Kwanzaa/Eid/Yule and….a Happy New Year.
–Here’s a story (with video of Hoiles) that ran in the York Dispatch on Thursday about former Revs’ manager Chris Hoiles opening up a baseball/multi-sport indoor academy in York.
–Adam Greenberg, the guy who got national publicity for getting his one at-bat with the Miami Marlins last year, has a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles.
–The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs named a new general manager.
–The Atlantic League website has a story up (and a good list) on all the guys playing winter ball.
