Stadium gets new name, batting cages

Crews last week began taking down old Sovereign Bank Stadium signs and replacing them with Santander signs.

The Revs’ ballpark is getting a name change over the offseason as part of a renaming campaign by Sovereign Bank’s parent company, the Spanish Santander Group.

Other work being done at the park the refurbishing of York’s old batting cages into the new YMCA York Revolution Diamond Academy. Located under the right field picnic deck, the space represents a partnership between the YMCA and Revolution and will be a year-around indoor and outdoor practice facility. It will replace the existing YMCA Hoffman Baseball/Softball Academy located on the YMCA’s downtown York campus. Click here to check out those pictures.
