A couple more signings were announced by two Atlantic League ballclubs on Thursday, Jan. 19.

BARNSTORMERS: Lancaster brought back outfielder Adam Godwin, a player who the Barnstormers traded in early June last season to the Blue Crabs for starting pitcher John Halama.

At the time of the trade, Godwin was batting just .256 with a stolen abse and two RBIs. He went on to hit .326 with two homers and 24 RBIs with the Blue Crabs. He also collected 37 stolen bases. Godwin, 29, finished top ten in the league in batting average (.317, seventh) and stolen bases (38, third).

The former Los Angeles Dodgers prospect is two seasons removed from hitting .345 with Lancaster in 2010, coming up just two points shy of the league batting crown.

Godwin’s signing marks Lancaster’s second roster move of 2012. On Jan. 11, the Barnstormers announced the signing of right-hander Ching-Lung Lo, a former Colorado Rockies prospect with a career 4.89 ERA in 10 minor league seasons.

BLUE CRABS: Southern Maryland announced its first signing of the new year with closer Jim Ed Warden. The 6-foot, 7-inch righty collected 28 saves with a 2.76 ERA in 50 appearances for the Blue Crabs last season.

The former Indians, Nationals and Mets prospect has racked up 104 saves in 11 professional seasons.
