Editorial: It’s a sad sign when active shooter drills like the one last week at Central are necessary. (pdelany@rkdispatch.com)

SPORTS:

Here’s the game plan for high school football (sports@rkdispatch.com):
We have 10 games total. We will cover the following games:
Red Lion at Spring Grove (Ryan Vandersloot). With art
York High at Dallastown (John Walk). With art.
Central York at South Western (Daniel Paulling).
We will also shoot the Delone Catholic at York Catholic game. The other games we will get from other sources, which have been lined up.
In addition to football, we also have a very large schedule of other local events. Dick, David and I will stay in house to try to track down everything, and also do the Scoreboard, since Ryan won’t be able to do this because he is covering a game.
The other local events include:
Katie Wagner trying to win her second straight District 3-AAA girls’ tennis championship. Dick will try to get something on this. It’s an afternoon event, so he can hopefully get this done and then help us later in the evening with the other events that will come pouring in later on.
York Catholic will have a District 3-AA Team Tournament girls’ tennis quarterfinal match vs. Pequea Valley.
Five boys’ soccer matches.
Three girls’ soccer matches.
Three girls’ volleyball matches.
Six field hockey matches. The District 3 field hockey pairings will be released.
